Wild Detectives Publications is a half bookstore, half bar that opened in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas, TX in 2014. The venue emerged from two Spaniard friends’ (Javier Garcia del Moral and Paco Vique) desire to entwine their passions of books and alcohol.
The founders hope that their customers view Wild Detectives as a place to talk about books, culture, and new ideas.
LOS DETECTIVES SALVAJES
The name “Wild Detectives” comes from Roberto Bolano’s novel, Los Detectives Salvajes, which translates to The Savage Detectives. Garcia del Moral and Vique were inspired by the spirit of the book, quoting Juan Villoro about the novel, “The savage detectives are life investigators, inspectors of experience.”
